Ship Design Process

The design phase of warships typically runs concurrently with the project execution phase and, following naval vessel design conventions, typically includes feasibility studies, preliminary design, contract design, and detailed design stages.

To achieve the functionality, characteristics, and operational requirements of warship design, naval vessel design undergoes iterative feedback loops involving size and horsepower estimation, hull form, hydrostatic performance, length between perpendiculars, arrangement, structure, propulsion power, weight estimation, and cost estimation, ultimately refining the design to its final state.
