To promote the spirit of International Coastal Cleanup Day and deepen service members’ awareness of environmental conservation, the Navy Amphibious Assault Vehicle Maintenance Plant recently organized a beach cleanup activity at Taoziyuan Beach, led by Plant Director Colonel Wang. Under the blazing sun, service members worked in designated sections along the coastline, carefully collecting plastic bottles, plastic products, and various types of household waste scattered across the beach and shoreline. Despite the hot weather, everyone supported one another to complete the cleanup. Through the hands-on removal of marine debris, service members gained a deeper understanding that maintaining a clean coastal environment requires continuous effort rather than a one-time activity. It begins with reducing waste in daily life, practicing proper waste sorting, developing environmentally friendly habits. By turning environmental conservation awareness into concrete action, all personnel contributed to protecting clean coastlines and promoting a sustainable marine environment.
Plant Director Wang stated that since the International Coastal Cleanup was launched in 1986, it has gradually brought people around the world together in raising awareness of marine debris and environmental conservation. As Navy service members work closely with the ocean year-round, they should also have a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to protecting the marine environment. Therefore, in addition to demonstrating support for International Coastal Cleanup Day through concrete action, the activity also encouraged service members to incorporate environmental protection into their work and daily lives, starting with themselves and inspiring their fellow service members. In this way, the principles of loving, understanding, and protecting the ocean can extend beyond the activity itself and become part of everyday life. The beach cleanup was successfully completed through the coordicated efforts of all service members, not only demonstrating the teamwork and unity of the Navy Amphibious Assault Vehicle Maintenance Plant, but also highlighting Navy service members’ sence of responsibility and commitment to conserving marine environment.
