Utilizing their off-duty hours, officers and sailors from ROCS Hai-Shih recently volunteered at the Qieding Wetland in Kaohsiung. Led by the Commanding Officer, Captain Ku, the crew participated in the "Creating a New Coastal Paradise" tree-care initiative, an environmental project hosted by the Kaohsiung Loving Tree Association.
Working in seamless coordination, the naval personnel dedicated their efforts to removing invasive plant species that threaten the local ecosystem. Through these concrete conservation actions, the crew not only contributed to preserving biodiversity and safeguarding the wetland ecology but also demonstrated the military's enduring commitment to environmental stewardship and meaningful community engagement.
