Navy Zuoying Amphibious Assault Vehicle Maintenance Plant Holds Fun Competition to Strengthen Team Bonds.

The Navy Amphibious Assault Vehicle Maintenance Plant recently hosted a ‘Basketball Fun Competition’ to bolster the physical fitness of its personnel through a blend of sports and recreational activities. Held in a lively and spirited atmosphere, the event aimed to foster camaraderie while strengthening teanwork and the spirit of honor. Participants from the Hull Workshop, Power Plant Workshop, and Plant Headquarters engaged in the competition, with each unit demonstrating immense enthusiasm and a strong sense of esprit de corps through their diligent preparation and mutual encouragement beforehand.

The competition was conducted in a station-based format, with each six-person team working together to complete the challenges. Success relied heavily on seamless cooperation and precise timing, as a single error in any segment would impact the overall score. The event featured three distinct stations: ‘Stationary Ball Control,’‘Ball Balance Challenge,’ and ‘Point-Shot Sharpshooter.’ These stages were thoughtfully designed to be both engagingly fun and technically demanding.

The first stage,‘Stationary Ball Control,’ focused on fundamental stability and concentration. Participants were required to execute a specific number of dribbles at designated spots; any mistake necessitated a complete restart, serving as a true test of on-the-spot reflexes and psychological resilience. The second stage, ‘Ball Balance Challenge,’ required team members to navigate a set course while balancing a basketball on the back of their hands. The ball could not drop or the movement be interrupted, demanding steady footwork to cultivate patience and test physical equilibrium. The final event, ‘Point-Shot Sharpshooter,’ served as the grand finale. Team members took turns shooting from fixed positions, showcasing their accuracy and distance judgment under time pressure. Cheers from the sidelines filled the air, creating a vibrant and electrifying atmosphere.

The competition utilized a timed scoring system, with the overall victory awarded to the team across all three stages. Following a period of intense rivalry, the Hull Workshop secured first place, distinguished by their steady, fluid performance and exceptional team synergy. The Power Plant Workshop followed in second demonstrating a tenacious, never-give-up spirit. The Plant Hadquarters took third place; despite their ranking, they displayed commendable dedication by giving their all to complete the course. Beyond relieving the pressures of daily duties, this event effectively bolstered unit cohesion, laying a solid foundation for the successful execution of future mission.
