Recently, Major General Hung, Deputy Director General of the Political Warfare Office,Navy Command Headquarters, presided over the “Completion Seminar for the 16th Elementary Leadership NCO Sensitivity Training Course (2026).” During the event, he presented certificates of qualification to the graduating trainees and encouraged them to apply their counseling sensitivity to safeguard service members’ mental well-being and maintain unit stability.
Major General Hung first invited the trainees to share their learning experiences. During the symposium, he emphasized that psychological counseling is a cornerstone of maintaining stable combat effectiveness. By teaching service members to recognize their own emotions, express them appropriately, and manage them effectively, counseling efforts can truly achieve their intended impact. He also shared practical experiences through real-life cases, reminding cadre members to master the key steps of “one inquiry, two responses, and three referrals.” Upon returning to their units, trainees were encouraged to lead by example, translate what they have learned into concrete actions, proactively care for the physical and mental well-being of their fellow service members, and provide timely assistance when needed.
In closing, Major General Hung urged the trainees to maintain a proactive learning attitude. Through attentive listening and heightened sensitivity, they should be able to identify early warning signs, jointly prevent potential safety and security incidents, and thereby safeguard unit security and overall combat effectiveness.
