To enhance service members’ understanding of kidney health and promote self-care awareness, the Zuoying Logistics Support Command recently invited Dr. Tsai Yi-Chun, Director of Kaohsiung Municipal Cijin Hospital, to deliver a special lecture on “Kidney Health Education.”
Drawing on her professional medical expertise, Director Tsai explained the kidney’s vital functions in the human body in an easy-to-understand way. She also reminded service members to pay attention to daily habits such as diet, hydration, and exercise, in order to avoid the potential risk of kidney disease caused by high salt and sugar intake as well as poor lifestyle habits.
Commander Major General Wu stated that by collaborating with local medical institutions, the command can continuously promote health initiatives, not only enhancing service members’ medical knowledge and self-care skills but also implementing the concept of a “Healthy Armed Forces.” Looking ahead, he hopes to continue partnering with more hospitals to create comprehensive healthy living environment, helping service members protect their own health while safeguarding the nation.
