The U.S. Naval Academy recently held its grand and prestigious Ship Selection Night for fourth-year midshipmen. After three and a half years of rigorous academic and military training, these soon-to-be officers make a pivotal choice — selecting the first assignment of their naval careers. Among them was a Taiwanese student recommended and sent by our Naval Academy. Upon returning to Taiwan, this promising young officer will serve aboard the Navy frigate ROCS Cheng Kung (PFG2-1101), joining the 146th Fleet and enhancing its operational strength.
