The academic research of the Naval Academy has been a success again! Associate Professor Huang Chun-huei of the Department of Information Management supervised the regular class of 113, Shen Jia-hsuan, on the topic of "Reliability Matching Design with Consideration of Cost and Failure Mode: A Case Study of a New Type of Nationally-Built Salvage Vessel," and Associate Professor Shih Wing-yim of the Department of Applied Science supervised the class of 114, Fu Pui-yu, on the topic of "Impact of Intense Winter Air Masses on the Geochemistry of the Low-Latitude Ocean in the Northern South China Sea," which was awarded the "112th Annual College Student Research Program" of the National Science Council (NSC). The two students were each selected for the "112th Annual Research Program for Tertiary Students" by the National Science Council (NSC), and the whole school was delighted and excited when the news reached us. Recently, the school's President, Mr. Liu Shao-Jung, presented certificates and gift certificates to the two students in the VIP room in recognition of their outstanding performance. In addition to completing their school work and attendance, the two students also devote their own time to research work after school, which fully demonstrates the ability of self-learning and lifelong learning of naval officers. With excellent teachers and learning environment, the School aims to nurture students to become naval officers of high moral character and professional excellence, and continues to promote the teaching and research of marine and naval applied sciences, with a view to cultivating outstanding talents for national use.
